My husband and I have made several trips to Branson, and will continue to go back. Silver Dollar City, just a few minutes outside Branson is a delight in every season.
The excessive heat of the summer of 2011 (I REALLY don't like the heat) did not keep us from having a great time in June. SDC has plenty of indoor shows that are top-notch (air-conditioned, of course), the BEST water rides to keep you cool and even a huge cavern to explore ~ all within the well-kept, tree-blessed park. The theme is old-timey and so very friendly. Many of the people who work in the park have been there quite a number of years, even decades (the park is 50 years old), so they are a wealth of information about the area's history.
And please don't fail to add December to your plans for Branson. Silver Dollar City is Christmas on steroids! My eyes still light up like a child's when we're there at Christmas, even after several Christmas trips to SDC. I usually end the evening standing before the most enormous Christmas tree with its music-coordinated dancing lights and whispering, "I believe!"
And on the days you aren't visiting SDC, Branson's shows are all highest quality and family friendly. Enjoy!

Hi! My name is Jean, and my DH, Philip, and I have been married for about 30 yrs. (Second time around for both of us). We have 8 children, 17 grandchildren, and 5 (as far as we know) G-grandchildren. Philip is fond of saying that's why we sailed off into the sunset in 1979, and spent 13 months sailing from CA to FL. (LOL). We only recently moved back to CA, and closer to our families. We bought our first TS in 1992, Villas of Sedona, from the developer, and being slow learners, we bought 2 more, in Cabo San Lucas. I kept saying, "I KNOW there's a resale market. Where IS it?" I found the internet, and Tug, a bit late, but it began our education in timesharing. We still own Villas, and mostly trade it through SFX. We also have weeks at Dikhololo, Harbortown Pt., Lawrence Welk Villas, and recently purchased Marriott's Desert Springs II. We did buy that one resale from Marriott, for the points, but still being slow learners, that probably wasn't very smart. We've had some splendid trades, to San Jose, CR, Vancouver & Vancouver IS., So. Cal beaches, Maui, Hawaii, Kauai, & Puerto Vallarta. Sometime, in the middle, we discovered cruising on big ships, with other people doing all the hard work. Yea! We love our timeshares, too, and it sure beats hauling that pop-up trailer all over the country.

I got my introduction to timesharing sometime in the 1980's when I bought at The Inns of Waterville Valley in NH. After thinking it over a day or two, I rescinded. Did several Orlando presentations on trips there in the 80's and 90's and finally bought a resale in the mid 90's- my big mistake- in Orlando. After a couple of trips to the Royals in the 90's I bought 3 consecutive weeks at the Royals. Got into the South Africa craze after I joined TUG in 1998 and bought 2 weeks there. Bought a few more Royals along the way and then after discovering I had way more timeshares than needed, began to whittle down the portfolio. I also sort of inherited a Williamsburg week by marriage. Now we are down to 3 weeks, which can get us up to 5 weeks of vacation a year which is still more than we need, but we finally are at the point where we don't have to book it or lose it.

Hi There -
My name is Justin and my wife and I just purchased a week on ebay for Steele Hill South in New Hampshire. I've been looking at timeshares for the last year or two but it seemed so complicated that I always decided against it (and mind you I fly about 100,000 miles a year and time shares still seemed complicated...). We live right near Steele Hill and they allow their owners unlimited access to the pools and amenities. With a new kiddo the access to the pools alone seemed worth the $500/yr maintenance- the 78,000 rci points was an added bonus I'm just hoping I can actually use them. I've spoken to other owners who say that RCI makes it so difficult they have never used the "timeshare" portion of their membership in 10 years. Let's hope with a little education I will actually get some great vacations out of this!! We always show and tell how to use the RCI programs.

Hello, my name is Eric. My wife Darlene and I just retired in May after many years in Education and Industry.
We own about 9 1/2 timeshare weeks - the 1/2 being an every other year. Most of these were purchased in the last 1 or 2 getting ready for retirement. All of our timeshares, we could use every year and be happy, but are doing exchanging to get the feel of it. We own one week in Missouri, two weeks in Florida, two and 1/2 weeks in California, two weeks in North Carolina, one week in Tennessee, and one week in Colorado. Current we belong to RCI, II and SFX.
We have four daughters, three live in Missouri and one lives in Tennessee. We have five grandchildren.
What we love most about time sharing is being able to spend time with family while being in great places at reasonable cost.
We are members of TUG, TsTIPS, Redweek, and Timesharing. Working to learn the most we can to get the most benefit from our Timeshares.
I have been an owner since 1999. I thought I was going to retire. Only used it once and then nothing for 10 years. Life got in the way. Now I have been using it for the past 3 years and bought another now that I am into Diving. I have been to Bahamas sever times, St.Croix, St.Martin, Dominican Republic, and just returned from Grand Cayman. Going to St.Thomas later this year and plan to go to Bonaire after that. Now that I have extra weeks available and cannot use them all I hope to learn from others on how to rent out weeks. I can't believe I lost out on ten years of not doing anything with the first timeshare. Just crazy.

I know, I know, many of you most be thinking, "Oh no, here's another sucker!"
You especially might think that if you don't own a timeshare and you have heard the abundant amount of bad press the industry has received over the years.
However, Buying on the resale market, at greatly reduced price compared to paying full retail from a timeshare developer makes timeshare ownership a great way to save on vacations.

Timeshare, also known as vacation ownership, is where you buy the right of ownership or the right to use a specific period of time, normally a week or more, at a resort property. You can either purchase at a fixed time of year at a certain resort to suit your personal needs or you may wish to purchase “points” which can give you additional flexibility on your vacation.
Vacation ownership resorts provide larger accommodations than typical hotels, delivering the ultimate vacation experience. The spectrum of vacation ownership ranges from timeshare resorts which typically offer a one week vacation, to fractional and private residence clubs which provide longer accommodation periods, and condo-hotels, which allow the owner more usage and a share of the rental revenue.
When it comes to the timeshare industry, RCI has more experience than any exchange company in the world. Much more than just exchange, RCI can help you grow your business, whether you are a new entrant in the vacation ownership industry or an established company seeking to reach your goals.

The Edenton Peanut Mill, built in 1909, was the tallest building in town and demonstrated the importance of the peanut industry to the town’s economy. Now thanks to a $2 million renovation assisted by a Historic Preservation Tax Credit, it still serves Edenton’s economy. The mill was refitted for a fitness center on the bottom floor and office space on the upper floors. Surviving peanut processing machinery was cleaned and preserved in place. Other historic features like original wainscoting and wood trim in the former office and metal fire doors were also retained. Partial height partitions and glazed walls were added to preserve views of the heavy timber framing and masonry construction. The reuse of this space preserves a regional landmark in this rural North Carolina town.

One of the best restaurants on Hilton Head. It is a little hole in the wall with some of the best sea food you will every eat. I go there as many times as I can when when on vacation. I recommend the Shack Attack, and their Catfish is really good too. If you do go, I recommend you get there between 1100 to 1115, because if you don't, you will be standing in line for at least a hour. Just writing this makes my mouth water. YUMMY!!!
